No gacha and loot boxes, ever
MYSverse is taking a clear stand against gacha mechanics and loot boxes. Our games will never include chance-based monetisation in any form. There are no random rewards, no hidden odds, only fair and transparent experiences built with integrity and respect for our players.

At MYSverse, we’ve made a firm decision, and a commitment we've held since 2014.
You will never find gacha mechanics or loot boxes in our games.
We’ve thought carefully about this, and we believe it's the right call for our players and our community.
Why we’re saying no

Gacha and loot box systems have become common in games around the world. They often rely on players spending real money for a chance at a reward, not a guarantee. While this model brings in massive profits, it's built on uncertainty, and it can lead to unhealthy habits, especially for younger players.
In Malaysia, gambling laws are strict, and while loot boxes aren't clearly defined under current regulations, their similarities to gambling are hard to ignore. In fact, a 2022 court case highlighted just how blurred the lines can be. Studies have also shown that people who spend money on loot boxes are more likely to experience stress and compulsive gaming behaviour.

There’s also a strong cultural and religious perspective to consider. In 2021, the Mufti’s Office in the Federal Territories issued a fatwa stating that purchasable loot boxes are haram. They pointed out that the combination of risk, money, and chance carries the same concerns as gambling. Local consumer groups have also voiced concern, calling these systems a quiet form of gambling that many don’t see coming.
Global shifts are happening

We’re not the only ones who are thinking carefully about this.
- Countries like Belgium and the Netherlands have already taken steps to ban loot boxes that involve real-world value.
- In China, companies are required to disclose the odds of winning each item.
- Japan banned a particularly aggressive version of gacha years ago.
- The UK is now pushing for better protections for players, especially children.
All of this points to a growing awareness that games need to be designed with care, not just profit in mind.
What this means for MYSversians
In 2019, Malaysians spent close to RM2.8 billion on games. A big part of that came from microtransactions, especially on mobile.
And while local data on loot box spending is limited, we know from international research that younger players are increasingly exposed to these systems.
We’ve built MYSverse to be fun, fair, and rooted in real values. That means never asking you to spend money for the chance of getting something.
When you support us, you’ll always know exactly what you’re getting.
No hidden odds, no pay-to-win setups, and no pressure to keep spending.
Our promise to you

Loot boxes and gacha systems will not appear in any form in MYSverse. Not for cosmetics, not in events, not ever.
Everything we offer will be clear, honest, and easy to understand. Whether it’s a game pass, a donation, or an item pack, we will always be upfront with you.
This is how we believe games should be made.
With respect for the player.
With transparency.
With heart.
